Interviewing Tips & Techniques

The HR must suitably arrange and schedule the Interviews beforehand, and set the criteria of selection, after the short listing of resumes. The HR should also select the questions and tests to be put to each candidate, to reveal the weaknesses and inner motives and policies of the candidates. Such managements would also help in deciding the suitability of the candidates for specified posts and positions. A subtle and scrupulous observation of the candidate’s body languages, reactions, approaches, occupational competencies, behavioral, social, and communication skills, career planning and goals, etc. is to be accomplished during the interview. The knowledge of the profession and the information gathered through research and networking can definitely help the employers for formulating questions of in-depth knowledge and high quality.

The following are most common questions asked by employers from the applicants---

  1. How would you describe yourself briefly?
  2. What are your prominent strengths and weaknesses?
  3.  Why did you choose to build career in this field? What are your career goals?
  4.  Where do you see yourself in five or ten years?
  5.  Describe your most rewarding accomplishment.
  6.  What qualifications do you have that will make you successful in this position?
  7.    Describe a challenge you encountered and how you dealt with it.
  8.   Why are you interested in working for our organization? What do you know     about our organization?
  9.   What two or three things are most important to you in your job?
10.   Why should I hire you?
