Director-Communications

The Director, Communications ( DC ) is responsible for all aspects of external communications, positioning, and branding, including editorial direction and tone for the organization’s publications, website, and marketing materials, and interactions with the media. The DC works closely with all staff across the organization, and is expected to develop and execute a communications plan to support the organization’s short and long-term strategy and goals.

 Primary Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and execute comprehensive communications plans that reflect the core values, positioning, and   direction of the organization.
• Work with community-facing units to understand and to compellingly and consistently articulate the    organization’s value proposition to participating libraries, publishers, and users.
• Cultivate relationships with media professionals; coordinate media interviews and activities in cooperation   with colleagues; manage the writing and approval process for all news releases, as well as list-serve   communications and blog postings as needed.
• Develop metrics to gauge and report on success in communications and positioning strategy.
• Lead efforts to expand the use of various types of media to promote the organization.

Qualifications Required :
- Graduates in any stream
- PG in Mass communication / Journalism

Skills Required :
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Innovative and creative
